The Boys & Girls Club of America
Boys & Girls Club of America Mission
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach
their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
About The Boys & Girls Clubs of America
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own
recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of
children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people
need to know that someone cares about them.
Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services
promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a
sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow all while
having fun. They are truly The Positive Place For Kids.

Boys & Girls Club...100 Years Strong!
During 2006, Boys & Girls Clubs of America marked its Centennial with
the opening of its 4,000th Boys & Girls Club! Also during that year,
actor Denzel Washington, BGCA's spokesperson, added "author" to his
list of accomplishments with the release of A Hand to Guide Me, a
compilation of touching stories about the importance of mentors. It was
an exciting end to our first 100 years of service to our nation's
youth.
